From January 19th to 20th 2013 second hackathon challenge Hackby’13 took place in Minsk, Belarus. Intetics was a proud sponsor and organizing partner of this event that aims to connect IT specialists across the country. The “24-hour marathon for technology geeks and innovation fans” invited participants all over Belarus to compete against one another, try new technologies and meet industry leaders. The competition tested their ability to create functioning programs under a tough 24 hour deadline using a variety of web, desktop and mobile technologies.
Intetics, along with other partner companies, not only sponsored the event, but its staff also played an important role in facilitating the challenge and mentoring the participants in new technologies. The challenge was facilitated by some of the company’s managing professionals, team leaders and project managers. The involvement of mentors and the expertise and guidance they provided to the participants throughout the challenge was a successful new addition this year. Intetics is pleased that many of its project managers and team leaders took the time to participate in this event, share their technical knowledge and help with the organization of the event.
In addition to sponsoring and organizing the event, Intetics also administered and selected a winner for the PHP or Java Development nomination category. Hackathons are an increasingly popular form of competitions, lasting anywhere from 12 to 72 hours. They allow developers not only to build their latest ideas, but they also create the perfect conditions to concentrate on the most important tasks to end up with a functioning product, which under a less constrained time-frame could take months to complete. Intetics is glad to contribute to a weekend that creates opportunity for technological discovery, innovation and networking, and looks forward to offering its support in the future.
