The European Outsourcing Association (EOA) has named Belarus as one of the top European outsourcing destinations of the year.
Belarus is a small, land-locked country in Eastern Europe with a population of 9.5 million people. Despite its size, Belarus has made quite a splash on the global IT scene.
Belarus has appeared as a leading outsourcing destination in the past, including on Gartner’s Top 13 Offshore Locations and Tholons Emerging Outsourcing Destinations in 2012. The country is heavily invested in IT outsourcing services. It has 16,000 new ICT graduates every year (including the best programmer in the world), 55 educational institutions and an annual IT market growth of 25%.
The high focus on IT services is especially apparent when comparing the amount of IT services exported to the country’s population: Belarus beats India and USA in per capita exports of computer services.
The country’s overall economy has shown tremendous development as well. The World Bank placed Belarus 44th out of 189 economies in their 2016 Doing Business Report, showing significant growth since 2011, where it was placed 91st. Some high profile enterprises are already outsourcing to Belarus, including Adidas, PayPal, SAP, Microsoft, BT, the London Stock Exchange and Coca Cola. Belarus is also famous for some of its innovative apps, including Viber and MSQRD.
Intetics has had a software development delivery center in Minsk, the nation’s capital, since 1995 – the founding of the company. The Belarus development center has grown tremendously since its launch and continues to grow and provide excellent software development services to its clients in North America and Western Europe.
In 2014, Belarus was nominated as one of the leading destinations by EOA as well. The winner of this year’s award for European Outsourcing Destination of the Year will be announced in October in Sofia, Bulgaria at the EOA Summit.
