Intetics has announced that its VP of Innovation, Pavlo Yalovol, will deliver a keynote at the Global Sourcing Association’s Festival of Sourcing 2026. The festival will take place on July 29 at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, United Kingdom. It will bring together sourcing leaders, technology executives, service providers, and advisors around this year’s theme: Responsible Strategic Sourcing in the Age of AI.
Yalovol’s keynote, “If AI Writes Code, Why Do We Still Need Developers?”, will challenge the increasingly common assumption that advances in generative AI make professional software engineering less relevant.
His argument is that AI is making code faster, cheaper, and more abundant, but code alone was never the product. Enterprises still need people who can translate business intent into working systems, make architectural decisions, verify AI-generated outputs, manage security and operational risks, and remain accountable for the result.

If AI reduces the effort required to produce code, organizations should expect more from their software partners, not merely lower rates or faster typing. Providers will increasingly need to demonstrate how they govern AI use, validate its outputs, protect client systems, and convert productivity gains into better business outcomes.
This perspective closely aligns with the festival’s broader focus on responsible sourcing. As organizations introduce AI into procurement, contracting, software delivery, and business operations, the boundaries of responsibility among clients, technology providers, engineers, and AI vendors are becoming less clear.
