Intetics helps a leading provider of K-12 data management systems improve special education programs across USA

Objective

To expand the product offering of a data management provider with applications to help schools and districts automate health forms management, provide better service to students, and remain government compliant.

Challenge

The provider of K-12 data management and analytics tools wanted to expand the capabilities of their system but lacked sufficient technical resources in-house. They were looking for a long-term partner with a range of experience in software development and systems integration. Their existing system allowed multiple user logins and tracked the health services provided to special education students, but it needed more features to reach its full potential. Their new technological partner would be responsible for the modernization of existing systems and the creation of new features to aid with various data management tasks. New features would include things such as: develop students’ IEP (Individualized Education Plan), automate the Medicaid form submission process, and organize and track scheduling and billing of health services, medical personnel, and student transportation. The new features had to be easy to use for administrative and medical staff, offer a number of different data entry options and keep the information accurate and secure.

Solution

The data management provider turned to Intetics, which has 20 years of software development and systems integration experience. Intetics created an Offshore Dedicated Team (ODT®) of software engineers to fully work on the clients’ projects. First, Intetics translated the system to new technologies and took steps to guarantee that the new system had access to an existing data storage system. After modernization of the existing application, Intetics began work on several new application features. These features were developed separately but were eventually connected to ensure that each application worked with the rest of the system. The new features developed included a number of separate product tracks such as applications for health form automation, simplified IEP development process, Medicaid claims automation, smart scheduling, and billing for medical personnel, tracking of delivered special health and education services, and student transportation management and billing. Most of the data could be loaded from databases, entered manually or scanned from paper documents. The interface was adopted for easy use and access by medical professionals and district administrators.

Intetics is helping us expand our product line and provide a more sophisticated and robust data management solution to school districts. This system helps save time and money, and improves the efficiency of special education programs across the country.
